I plan to apply for jobs in both the UK and China after graduation. In this post, I am going to mainly talk about animator positions in both the UK and China.
UK
Ways of finding jobs
- LinkedIn: Follow some animation studios and UAL or other related accounts, they might post some recruitment on it.

China
Animation Studios in CHINA
Based on the current market trends, most animation jobs are for 3D animators. I think the job market for 2D animators in China is not very promising. Most Chinese animation companies offer a basic salary with performance income. This means animators need to work long hours to earn a decent salary. In most cases, the salary only covers basic expenses. Also, overtime work is common in China. Therefore, the job market for 2D animators in China is not very favorable.
However, I still plan to look for Jobs in China and I have found some animation companies in China and plan to apply to them.

Video Game Company
I also researched some game companies and animation-related positions. I found that many game companies only create storyboards or animatics and then outsource the actual animation work to other animation studios. This means that game companies rarely have internal 2D animation departments.
